Something to Earnestly Ponder
As you earnestly ponder this, seriously ask yourself if the following four paragraphs make sense to you and make sure to give yourself an honest answer. YOU deserve an honest answer.
1. Almost every mainstream denomination claims that the laws of God came to an abrupt end at the death of Yeshua Messiah on the cross. They say that “Yeshua the Messiah came to end the law and He done that by nailing the laws to the cross”. If this were true, then why oh why do the Scriptures consistently teach us NOT to sin and that if we do sin we should repent?
2. For there to be sin, there HAS to be laws in place that would identify sin for mankind, especially for professed believers. If then, the laws of God no longer existed, it wouldn’t matter if a professed believer committed adultery and another murdered, and yet another dishonored his/her parents or even worshipped another God. We would have no need to repent (when you repent, you ask forgiveness FOR your SINS (i.e. the breaking of Gods laws: 1 John 3:4 ), turn from past sins (i.e. stop breaking the laws of God), and turn to God) and we would certainly need no advocate IF the holy laws of God were truly abolished.
3. Additionally, the Holy Messiah would have died in vain. The Word of God tells us that “without the shedding of blood there is no remission” (remission means a pardon, forgiveness of sins; Matt. 26:28; Mark 1:4; Heb. 9:22). If the laws of God have indeed ended, there would be NO need to evangelize or proselytize because there would be NO sin and NO way to identify sin. The laws of God are the true measuring rods that help believers to identify and avoid sin.
4. Remember, sin is the transgressing of God’s law. Where there is no law, there is NO sin. Without the law still being active and in place, we would NOT know what sin is. Does your teachers teach you that sin is the transgression of the laws of God? Then how can he teach that the laws of God were nailed to the cross? Now, do you still believe that the laws of God were nailed to the cross? Honestly?
